The Art of Doing Less in Summer and Why Your Body Loves It

There’s a moment every year when I feel summer arrive.

It’s not a date on the calendar. It’s the smell of flowers in the early morning air, the sunlight waking me gently at 5 am, the way my body wants to move outside again. I feel it in the long walks, the slow bike rides, the yoga sessions that naturally shift from the mat to the grass 🌿

Summer carries a different rhythm. Not necessarily slower. In my case, I often do more. I wake up earlier, feel lighter, and want to move. But somewhere in that energy, there’s also a softness. I need more naps, more water, less food. I give myself permission to pause 🌸

Doing less isn’t always about doing nothing. Sometimes, it’s doing something more aligned and more intuitive.

Morning yoga outside. A big cup of herbal tea before emails. A walk in the sun instead of a workout. These little shifts feel unproductive on paper, but they restore something deeper; a connection to myself 🌞

If you feel your pace changing right now, let it.

Let yourself be nourished by the sun
Enjoy the early mornings
Start the day with something that fills your cup before you start giving it away
Say yes to the fruits in season, the fresh air, the tiny joys 🍓

Summer reminds us that healing doesn’t always look like effort
Sometimes, it’s just doing less and loving it 🍃
